Public Hearings for Proposed New Roadway

A proposed new roadway to connect Clay and St. Johns counties, including a new bridge across the St. Johns River, will be the subject of public hearings scheduled for the next two weeks by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).

Four separate public hearings will be held in Clay, Duval and St. Johns counties at different locations for the convenience of the public. They are scheduled:

  • Monday, February 22 at World Golf Village in the Renaissance Resort located at 500 South Legacy Trail in St. Augustine.

  • Thursday, February 25 at St. Johns Community College in the Thrasher-Horne Conference Center at 283 College Drive in Orange Park.

  • Tuesday, March 2 at the Clay County Fairgrounds located at 2496 State Road 16 West in Green Cove Springs.

  • Thursday, March 4 at the Cecil Commerce Center, 12541 Lake Newman Street in Jacksonville.

    FDOT staff will be available beginning at 3 p.m. at all locations except for Jacksonville where they will be available beginning at 4:30 p.m.

    Each of the hearings in St. Augustine, Orange Park and Green Cove Springs will have the same presentation made twice at 4:30 and 7 p.m. -- to be followed by public comment each time. In Jacksonville, the presentation will be made once at 6:30 p.m.-- and followed by public comments.
